E-Denial skills in pve & Morostav build
Was looking over the wiki and couldnt see anything on the skills pages.
Ive been running morostrav over and over with heroes to finish my title. Just got to rank11. Have tried multple setups but have mainly been using a energy surge team. 3 or 4 of the heroes have energy surge and energy burn. Im wondering if the skills actually do full damage always on mobs. Or do they have some sort of limited energy pool perhaps with super fast regen. Having never used those skills in pve myself. Also wondering if anyone has any advice on other builds that work well here. I have gotten it down to ~26-27minutes runs using this with no consumables. myself sogm offensive spirit ritualist 1 ineptitude mesmer 3 energy surge mesmer (all with fall back) 1 bone fiend & aura lich mm /w prot (no death nova as it semed to slow it down) 1 resto /w sos rit 1 bip resto necro The signet of spirits rit seems kinda wasted due to the fats moving all the time the spirits only seem to attack on the big fights. I recently tried without any spirits, myself as resto and taking a 4th esurge mesmer but im not sure it semed to do higher damage and no spirits is more risk on the bigger groups so i wiped/retreated often on the warrior boss. There is a post from years ago saying 2 ineptitude mesmers work well here but i will still need some damage from elsewhere Last edited by Wbrkr; Apr 10, 2012 at 07:43 PM // 19:43.. |

Since you have BiP, consider taking Wandering Eye on every mesmer for more anti-melee, which mostly makes Ineptitude seem irrelevant. The MM build could have Putrid Bile and Putrid Explosion to compensate for the lack of Death Nova.

I have played as a mesmer that has used energy denial -> mind wrack -> aneurism builds, and I can tell you that mobs do not have unlimited energy. I dont know anything about their energy regen, but monsters will run out of energy if you deny it, and if your 3 e-surge/e-burn mesmers are targeting the same enemy, they will not all end up doing maximum damage (unless that enemy is an elementalist).

With Esurge, as long as the damage isn't focused on 1 target, it is nice mob damage but if its used on 1 target then damage is lost. Especially on melee as they have low energy pools. I used to run 3 esurge mesmers on a team, no eburn, and noticed that once your foe has no e you have no dmg.
As for ineptitude, something to remember is that EVERYTHING in PvE wands/auto attacks so you will get dmg even if you face a group with little melee. |

Hi thanks for the replies and that thread is interesting.
It seems my 27minutes as rit seems pretty fast. Those that got faster all seem to be assasin/derv with alot of aoe damage and stacked enchantments with running in first to ball up. I can maybe tweak the build with less esurge also. Just one more question what is 'BU' its said alot in that thread and i have been away from the game alot recently so dont know the lingo. |

Anyway, given that a) that thread exists and is current, and b) this thread has no business being in Q&A, I'm going to close this. Please redirect your discussion in the previously linked thread.
